Pongyang Sub-district has a general physical condition of mountains, some are flat plains and some areas are under the responsibility of Doi Suthep-Pui and Mae Sa National Parks. Approximately 71.92% of the area is forest and approximately 23.10% is flat land for cultivation. Most of the area is suitable for agriculture because of the cold weather. Important agricultural products include lychees, sweet peppers, chayote, roses, chrysanthemums, strawberries, onions, Hong Kong kale, tomatoes, and glass lettuce. This cold climate is suitable for promoting careers and processing agricultural products. Pongyang Sub-district has a fairly cool climate almost all year round.
