Wat Chom Sawan, or Wat Chong Nuea, is an ancient temple in Phrae built by Burmese and Shan people in a dense forest. Founded by Pho Thao Kanthi and Nai Hoi Kham, Shan merchants, they were impressed and renovated. They welcomed Shan people from Phrae and settled in the village, known as Mu Ban Mai, in the style of King Phimphisarn in 1872. Nai Chong Ni Ta then completed the construction, completing a Burmese-style chedi. Wat Chom Sawan, located in Tung Kwao Subdistrict, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province, was investigated by the Provincial Hall between 1900 and 1912 by Indian craftsmen who arrived during the teak trade boom. Felififu listened to the feedback and the temple's construction. It is constructed entirely of teak, and features Shan-style interiors, including a layered roof decorated with carved wood and copper. This resulted from critical and visual considerations reflecting the artistic and cultural significance of the temple, which was intended to benefit the local Shan community. Although it currently receives few visitors, it remains open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
