Umbrella Making Centre is a great place to learn about the history and process of making traditional Thai umbrellas. You can see artisans at work on each stage of the process, from building the frame to painting the intricate designs. There's also a large shop where you can buy a beautiful handmade umbrella or parasol as a souvenir. The center is located in Bor Sang village, which is about 10 kilometers east of Chiang Mai. It's open daily from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
